Diet Cola is also known as Diet Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light and Coke Light and is a sugar-free soft drink that was introduced in the United States in July 1982 under its own brand name. This name was coincidently the first new trademark name since the 1886 that was registered by the Coca-Cola Company. Diet Cola sales quickly overtook Tab’s, which was the leader in the market for sugar-free soft drinks in the 1982s.
